Instructions: Senate Bill 1414 requires all who work/volunteer* in campus programs involving contact with minors complete SB1414: Youth Protection Training. This training must be completed within the first five (5) days of employment (with the program). You must review the SB1414: Youth Protection Training lesson and pass the SB1414: Youth Protection Training-Quiz with a 70% or better. 

The Program Operator/Director/Coordinator is required to submit a verification form to the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) within five (5) days of the start of the program verifying that each employee/volunteer* of the campus program has complied with the training requirement.

*Note: UTSA expanded the training requirement to include those in unpaid positions (e.g., volunteers)

Preventing Harassment and Discrimination: Non-Supervisors prepares learners to cultivate and maintain a workplace culture resistant to discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Employees will be equipped with the information and skills that promote intervention, empathy, and allyship.

The growing volume and sensitivity of the data being shared within an organization calls for strict privacy policies and protective software. As an employee, you play a major role in ensuring the security of the organization. An organization may have the most advanced security systems installed, but a single error made by an employee has the potential to undermine even the most forward-thinking strategy. In this course, you will learn what makes you vulnerable and the seemingly normal behaviors you may engage in on a daily basis that can be adjusted to make your workplace more secure. You’ll learn how to identify whether or not information is confidential, and the tactics criminals often use to gain access to private data. Last, you’ll learn what you can do to make a difference in securing your workplace, as well as how to properly respond and report to data breaches within the organization.


By completing this course participants will be able to:

  • Describe the importance of data security
  • Identify vulnerabilities in daily behaviors in the online environment
  • Differentiate between confidential and on the record information
  • List key tactics criminals use to gain access to private data
  • Explain several ways to secure the workplace from data security breaches
  • Formulate a proper response to a data breach including correct reporting procedures

This course is required for all UTSA community members (all students, staff and faculty) in order to ensure a safe return to campus during COVID-19. Safeguarding the health and welfare of every member of the UTSA community is our paramount commitment. This will require a joint effort from every member of our community as we work together as one. This course covers guidelines related to face coverings, handwashing, cough etiquette, social distancing and disinfecting surfaces. The course also provides information about self-screening for COVID-19 and accommodations for both students and employees. Provided in this course are key campus resources for more information about the safety and wellbeing of all UTSA community members. Participants are asked to acknowledge having read and understood the guidelines and measures included in the UTSA Public Health Task Force Report.

  1. Reiterate the key responsibilities each UTSA community member has to mitigate the spread of COVID-19
  2. Identify key campus resources for more information about the safety and wellbeing of all UTSA community members
