The mission of the UTSA Training & Development Department is to provide high quality services to meet our customers' needs. We facilitate professional and personal excellence, enhance organizational effectiveness, and contribute to the current and future success of the UTSA community. 

This site is for Non-UTSA employees with a need to comply with training regulations related to their volunteer duties affiliated with UTSA programs ONLY.

Our office hours are Monday - Friday (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.).

    Instructions: Senate Bill 1414 requires all who work/volunteer* in campus programs involving contact with minors complete SB1414: Child Protection Training. This training must be completed within the first five (5) days of employment (with the program). You must review the SB1414: Child Protection Training lesson and pass the SB1414: Child Protection Training-Quiz with a 70% or better. Once you have completed the quiz, you must PRINT your certificate and give it to your Program Operator/Director/Coordinator.

    The Program Operator/Director/Coordinator is required to submit a verification form to the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) within five (5) days of the start of the program verifying that each employee/volunteer* of the campus program has complied with the training requirement.

    *Note: UTSA expanded the training requirement to include those in unpaid positions (e.g., volunteers)
